In 2006, Mason moved to Seekonk from Long Island just in time for the new school year. That same year, one of the primary schools in their town closed and was made to merge with Jill’s. Even with all the new kids, Jill took notice of Mason right away. Though they were in different 3rd grade classes, Jill likes to say she would take extra long getting to class to see if she could spot his brown mop of hair from across the hallway.

It wasn’t until the next the year when Mason and Jill were placed in the same class that they finally got to know each other. Mason taught her about his cajun heritage on Mardi Gras and Jill dragged him through the three legged race on Field Day. They were SO close that their teacher stopped class and warned them they would be separated on multiple occasions for talking nonstop!

The two of them went on to get closer and closer until they were inseparable through middle school. They even went to the 8th grade formal together but were adamant to that THEY WERE NOT DATING! To no one’s surprise, only a few months later Jill and Mason were officially a couple. They spent every second together. After school, the two would both leave their houses at the same time to meet in the middle so Jill wouldn't have to walk the extra 3 minutes to Mason's alone.

Just like all teenagers, the two of them had a lot of growing up to do. They decided it was best to spend some time apart but never went more than few weeks without talking  through the rest of high school. Before they knew it, Mason moved almost a thousand miles away to start his undergrad at Purdue.

No longer being minutes down the road was quite the change after living on the same street for so many years. Jill decided a few weeks into the second semester to take a trip to visit her “friend” and the rest is history. In 2018, after a year of long distance Jill upended her life and moved to Indiana with Mason… and his three roommates. Looking for a job in her new home, Jill was offered the position of pastry chef at the local french bistro where Mason was working, cultivating their mutual love for food! Their relationship continued to develop when they moved into their own place and rescued the most adorable addition to their family, their lab mix Rocket. 

Five apartments, 4 years in Indiana and two summers in Texas later, Mason was ready to graduate and Jill was ready to leave the Midwest winters behind. The two spent the next year and a half in Fort Worth enjoying what the deep south had to offer. On September 25, 2022 Mason surprised  Jill with a trip to their favorite lake in Austin. It was here that Mason proposed, 16 years after it all began! Of course Jill said yes! Finally, they are ready to plan the wedding of their dreams, that wouldn’t be complete without their closest family and friends. They are looking forward to your presence at their ceremony and reception on July 13th, 2024 in Bristol, Rhode Island.
